Update 6:21PM – Severe thunderstorm warning ended for City of Edmonton – St. Albert – Sherwood Park
At 4:34 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing heavy rain.
This thunderstorm is located over southern Edmonton.
The main threat associated with this storm is locally heavy downpours, which may cause some localized flooding.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
