Rainfall warning issued for Edmonton (Up to 75mm by Friday)

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the city of Edmonton and surrounding areas.

1:43 PM MDT Wednesday 19 June 2019
Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Edmonton – St. Albert – Sherwood Park

A long episode of rain, at times heavy, continues.

A Pacific feed of moisture in combination with a developing low pressure system over central Alberta will continue to bring periods of rain to west-central regions. Total rainfall amounts could be as high as 75 mm, before coming to an end on Friday. This warning may be expanded as more information becomes available.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Be prepared for possible winter conditions at higher elevations.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
